Agile & IxD: Embrace or Tolerate
with Rob Keefer, PhD.
This presentation is for anyone interested in Agile (Lean) project management practices, and how these practices can work with traditional interaction design practices.
Agile software development and Interaction Design are often viewed as conflicting practices. Software developers view IxD as making their job harder, and interaction designers see their work ignored at implementation time. Can these two views of the same process work together in a thriving environment, or must they always live in resigned co-existence? In this presentation, we will consider how the two practice can get along, in-spite of common causes of conflict.
About the speaker
Rob Keefer, PhD, is a Principal with Pomiet. He has over 18 years of experience as a human factors engineer, software engineer, and agile project management mentor. He has led the development of complex, interactive systems with Raytheon, Major League Baseball (mlb.com), FedEx-Kinkos, and more. Rob works with teams to ensure that the user's perspective is valued throughout a product's development. He has authored several articles, white papers, and presentations on a broad range of technology topics, including Agile Software Development and User Experience Design.
